  • Please let me know which hot spring resorts you recommend for snow viewing open-air baths.

I have never experienced a snow viewing open-air bath. I would like to experience the luxurious pleasure of viewing the cold snowy landscape from a warm hot spring. Are there any places that are “just like hot spring resorts” where one can enjoy an open-air bath to view the snow?

Manza Prince Hotel

Manza-onsen, Tsumagoi-mura

  • A hot spring inn where you can enjoy the sounds of snow

  • It may not be exactly what you'd call hot spring, but the snow scenery you can see from open-air bath is what makes this inn so recommended. You walk through the snow (just a little) from the large bath, and the atmosphere of open-air bath you can see at the end is great. There is no ceiling, so when it snows, you can hear the "plop plop" sound of the snow melting in the bathtub. That sound really gets you excited about open-air bath in the snow.

  • You can truly enjoy "snow-viewing hot spring"

  • You can put your hair in the hot hot spring while the steam freezes your hair. It is more like being in hot spring in the snow than snow watching. The spring water is thick and very warming. The rooms are a bit old, but they are clean and nice.
