So I thought I'd stay in Moka, which is almost halfway between the two. It may depend on whether you travel by car or train, but the Hotel Route Inn Moka was comfortable, with a large public bath and breakfast included. The price was also reasonable.

There are few lodgings in the Mashiko and Kasama areas that are affordable, so I recommend the City Hotel Tomobe near Kasama. I stayed there when I arrived early to play golf, and the spacious room was clean and comfortable. It is about an 8-minute drive from Tomobe Station on the JR Joban Line.
