  • Seiranso Ryokan
  • I am looking for a traditional Japanese style inn that would appeal to foreigners.

I'm going on a trip with a foreign friend in the Kanto or Tohoku region in October. Do you have any recommendations for traditional Japanese-style accommodations (Ryokan (Japanese inn), guesthouses, cottages)? I'd like to stay in a hot spring resort for 2-3 nights, so I'm looking for a budget of around 10,000 yen per person per night. Ideally, I'd like to be able to get there by train or bus, and I'm also considering renting a car.

Seiranso Ryokan

679 Miyakami, Yugawara-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun

  • Yugawara Onsen is currently recommended.

  • Although Yugawara Onsen is not so well known anymore, it was originally one of the leading hot spring areas in Kanagawa Prefecture, and as a part of the town's revitalization efforts, it offers a variety of generous services, so I think now is the best time to visit. There is a shuttle bus to the station, so don't worry.

Yunohara Hotel

1 Motoki, Sakunami, Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi

  • Recommended accommodations in Sakunami Onsen

  • I recommend the Yunohara Hotel in Sakunami Onsen, Miyagi Prefecture. This hot spring inn is located in the inner sanctum of Sendai and features a gentle interior decoration with old folk tools. The creative cuisine is very elaborate and each dish is delicious, and there is a private open-air bath so you can enjoy the high-quality hot spring at your own pace. I highly recommend it!
