  • Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto
  • Please let me know about sightseeing attractions and recommended accommodations around Itsukushima Shrine.

I'm planning to take my 80-year-old mother to Itsukushima Shrine around autumn. We'll be exploring for 2 nights and 3 days, so please let me know the places that are definitely worth seeing. My mother writes haiku as a hobby, so she says that anything can be a subject, but are there any spots that give a sense of the season?

Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto

364 Minamimachi, Miyajimamachi, Hatsukaichi-shi

  • You can enjoy the distant view of the Seto Inland Sea.

  • If you are going to Miyajima in Aki, we recommend the Miyajima Grand Hotel Arimoto located on Itsukushima. It is the closest Ryokan (Japanese inn) to Itsukushima Shrine. The recommended tourist spot in the area is Breathtaking view of the Seto Islands, which can be reached by taking the ropeway to the top.

Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima

23-1 Motoujina-machi, Minami-ku

  • This place is worth staying for a few nights.

  • I recommend the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima. It is a beautiful and easy-to-use hotel located in the pleasant environment of the Seto Inland Sea. I think it is well worth staying at for multiple nights. It takes just under 30 minutes by high-speed boat from the pier in front of the hotel to get to Miyajima in Aki. The view is great, and the food is delicious, with Buffet of local ingredients such as oysters, so I highly recommend it.

Aki Grand Hotel & Spa

1-1-17 Miyajimaguchi-Nishi

  • Take a look at the islands of Setouchi

  • The first recommended accommodation is the Aki Grand Hotel, located opposite Itsukushima Shrine. It is Ryokan (Japanese inn) with hot springs. Aside from the shrine, the recommended tourist spot on Itsukushima is the view of the islands of Setouchi from the top of the mountain. The view of Setouchi is also written about in the Hyakunin Isshu.

Iwakuni Kokusai Kanko Hotel

1-1-7 Iwakuni

  • The scenic Kintai Bridge is right in front of you

  • The five-section wooden Kintai Bridge is right in front of the hotel. The bridge spanning the clear waters of the Nishiki River is worth crossing at least once in your life. In the summer, cormorant fishing is held here, offering a unique atmosphere. In addition, during the fireworks festival, you can enjoy a magnificent panorama that colors the night sky.

Miyajima Seaside Hotel

967 Miyajima-cho

  • This is a hotel located on the seafront of Miyajima.

  • If you are looking for a convenient place to stay when touring the tourist attractions around Itsukushima Shrine, why not try Miyajima Seaside Hotel? Located on the seafront of Miyajima, it is recommended as a base for sightseeing on Miyajima. There is also a free shuttle from Miyajima Port to the hotel, making it easily accessible.

Miyajima Shinsen no Yado Hotel Miyarikyu

849 Miyajima-cho, Hatsukaichi-shi

  • A hotel where you can experience a truly Japanese experience

  • We recommend this hotel on Miyajima. The hotel mainly features Japanese-style rooms, and you can see the large torii gate from the spacious and tasteful public bath. The Japanese drum demonstration incorporating light effects is a must-see, and the delicate Japanese Japanese food made with local ingredients such as oysters in winter and conger eel in summer is a feast for the eyes and the mouth. It is also close to Itsukushima Shrine and the sightseeing boat dock, so we recommend taking a night cruise.
