• One night in Hokkaido is a little lonely, but I recommend Marukoma Onsen Ryokan (Japanese inn), which is close to Chitose Airport and has good transportation access. It is a quiet inn that is also a member of the Japan Association for Preserving Secret Hot Springs. The natural open-air bath is connected to Lake Shikotsu and is worth experiencing at least once.
