  • I want to go on a trip to Kagoshima! Are there any recommended lodgings where I can take a sand bath?

We are married couple in our 30s living in Tokyo who are planning a trip to Kagoshima for 2 nights and 3 days in early February. Please let me know of any lodgings that have sand baths or are close to sand bath spots. If there are any hot springs with Breathtaking view view, such as one with a view of Sakurajima, I would like to try them.

Iwasaki Hotel

3805-1 Juuni-cho, Ibusuki

  • If you want a sand bath, this is the place to go

  • In the past, the Ibusuki Tourist Hotel was famous for its jungle bath. Now it's a really nice resort hotel, and the sand bath on the beach in front of the hotel is very warm and something you should try at least once. The parasols that are set up to protect you from the sun are also cute.

  • There is a sand bathing facility inside the hotel. The bath after the experience also has a great view, so it is recommended.

  • After experiencing the sand steam bath, there is a hot spring on the top floor of the hotel to remove the sand. The view is outstanding. You can also enjoy a Hawaiian show at night and, depending on the season, digging potatoes in the park (1,000 yen for a box full of potatoes!). ) in the park in some seasons. There is also a bowling alley, so even if the weather is bad, you can still have fun with your family.

  • It takes about 7-8 minutes to walk to the sand baths, and there is also a shuttle bus available.

  • It is difficult to enjoy both the sand bath and the view of Sakurajima at the same time. I recommend the Ibusuki Iwasaki Hotel for Sunamushi Onsen (Steam Sand Bath) hot spring experience. Kirishima Onsen is probably the only inn where you can see Sakurajima. The other hot springs are on flat land or in the mountains. You will need to check with the inn whether you can see Kirishima Onsen from the window. I think you will use Kagoshima Airport for the round trip, but it is difficult to travel between Kirishima and Ibusuki.
