  • Yufuin Hotel
  • I'm going to travel to Yufuin with my wife and 2-year-old child in the winter. Are there any inns with hot spring that family can enter?

I'd like to enjoy the hot springs of Yufuin with my family. Small children have delicate skin, so a mild hot spring would be ideal. Are there any hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that are OK for small children?

Yufuin Hotel

1414 Yufuinchokawakami

  • A homely hideaway

  • Although it is a little independent guest cottages from the main street of Yufuin, it is a quiet inn with a hideaway atmosphere. The food is delicious in the old-style thatched-roof building, and we were able to relax when we stayed there with our family. It is on the affordable side of Yufuin Onsen, so I think it will be fine on a budget. There is a main building and a new building, so you should consider your budget and the availability of rooms.

Yamanohotel Musouen

1243 Yufuinchokawaminami

  • There is a large open-air bath with a view and a independent guest cottages lodging facility.

  • Last year, we stayed here with my wife's parents, my family (married couple and wife, children ages 4 and 3), and my wife's younger brother on a three-generation family trip. In addition to the large open-air bath with a view that can fit about 100 people, there are several open-air baths, indoor baths, and private family baths that you can use freely. The food was also very delicious, and there are also independent guest cottages rooms, so we were able to relax without worrying about the people around us.

Yufuin Iyotomi

848, Yufuincho Kawaminami

  • There are relatively large rooms.

  • I'm not sure if this will completely meet your request of "I want to go to Yufuin with my family and spend some time relaxing," but I think you should consider "Iyotomi" as one of your options. The rooms are relatively spacious and have a semi-open-air bath, so I think it would be a good place to relax in the hot spring without worrying about the people around you.

Yufuin Hotel Shuhokan

2415-2 Kawakami, Yufuin-cho

  • You can enjoy hot springs within your budget

  • The Japanese-style rooms are spacious and have tatami mats, so we recommend this one, as even children will not have to worry about falling over. You can relax and enjoy the view of nature from the veranda, and the view of the vast Mount Yufu from the bath is Breathtaking view, making it a perfect place to make memories. We also recommend meals for children.

Hinoharu Ryokan

1082-1 Kawakami

  • A hot spring inn located right next to Yunotsubo Highway

  • The private rooms at Ryokan (Japanese inn) also have open-air baths, and I was impressed with how homey it was. Although it was over my budget, it was a very good inn. Even in Kyushu, Yufuin Onsen and Kurokawa Onsen are in a class of their own. There are tourist spots such as Yunotsubo Kaido and Lake Kinrin in the surrounding area, so it's a perfect base for sightseeing.

Ryokan Yufuin Sansuikan

108-1 Kawaminami

  • Cozy hot springs in Yufuin

  • If you are going on a hot spring trip to Yufuin with your wife and 2-year-old child, I recommend a place to stay. It's "Yufuin Sansuikan." It's on the tightest of budgets. There are multiple hot springs, some of which are suitable for children. Please ask the staff at the inn. The rooms are Japanese-style, so you can relax and feel safe even with children. Meals are served Buffet style, so the whole family can enjoy themselves.

Pension Youkankyo

  • A comfortable pension with a private family bath

  • This pension is located about 5 minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot from Yufuin Station. There is a private family bath, so even families with children can relax. It is a relaxing pension, so you can spend the whole day without any worries. It is also a very homey pension, and the price is relatively cheap.

Ryoso Makibanoie

2870-1 Kawakami, Yufuin-cho, Yufu-shi

  • A comfortable place to stay even with children

  • All rooms here are independent guest cottages, but they are spacious and standard Japanese-style rooms, yet reasonably priced. The family baths are also very comfortable. There are many family baths, so the waiting time is not that long, which was nice. The view from the open-air bath in the rustic large communal bath is amazing. Meals are served in the restaurant, and there are many menu items that are easy for children to eat, so it was a very nice inn.

Yufuin Bettei Itsuki

2652-2 Kawakami, Yufuin-cho, Yufu-shi

  • Enjoy a private space in a detached independent guest cottages with hot springs in every room

  • I recommend Yufuin Bettei Itsuki. It's a hideaway for adults. Each room is independent guest cottages, so you can stay without worrying about the people around you. Each room has a different concept, and each room has a hot spring bath. I think it's a good place to relax with your family.

Yufuin Bettei Kazenomori

371-1 Kawaminami, Yufuin-cho, Yufu-shi

  • All rooms independent guest cottages and each room has an open-air bath.

  • Since you were bringing children, I think this hotel, which has a shuttle service from Yufuin Station, is convenient. It's not a large Ryokan (Japanese inn), but it's a charming Ryokan (Japanese inn), and all the rooms are independent guest cottages, so you can relax. All the rooms also have hot springs. I think it's perfect for relaxing with the family. There is also a foot bath where you can enjoy the view of Yufuin.
