  • Please tell us about some famous hot springs or hot spring inns that only a few people know about, or "a place that everyone should stay at in Japan at least once."

Please tell us about a hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that makes you feel like "this is the Japanese hot spring inn" or "this is the Japanese hospitality." I would be grateful if you could tell me the reason why you feel that way and any episodes you had.

  • A traditional hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Gunma Prefecture's famous hot springs

  • The inn is located in Ikaho Onsen in Gunma. It has a calming wooden atmosphere. It boasts the largest amount of hot water in the area, and you can enjoy the large public bath and open-air bath bath with flowing "Golden Hot Springs," the source of Ikaho. The food is also excellent, and the inn faces Ikaho's stone-paved road, allowing you to fully enjoy hot spring inn. I heard that Tokutomi Roka stayed here during the Meiji period and wrote his novel "The Hototogisu."
