  • ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort
  • I'm planning to go diving in Okinawa during summer vacation, so could you recommend any hotels?

During summer vacation, I'm planning to go to Okinawa for scuba diving with three friends for four days and three nights while we're in Japan. All three of us are beginners, so please tell me some recommended diving spots in Okinawa for beginners and hotels nearby. We're looking for something under 20,000 yen per person per night.

Fusaki Beach Resort Hotel & Villas

1625 Arakawa, Ishigaki-shi

  • Diving at Fusaki Beach on Ishigaki Island

  • This hotel is located on Ishigaki Island. Fusaki Beach is a diving spot. The color of the sea is mysterious and very beautiful. I did a trial dive, and if you're lucky, you can see manta rays. It's also the most beautiful when the sun is setting. There is a pool and tennis court, so you can play in between dives. The building is also Okinawa-like and beautiful.

Hotel Rocore Naha

1-1-2 Matsuo, Naha-shi

  • A relaxing inn recommended as a base for sightseeing

  • Hello, then I think that Hotel Loco Naha might be just what you're looking for. It's a convenient hotel on Kokusai Street. The facility is very clean, so you can relax and enjoy your stay. In addition to diving, it's also conveniently located to tourist spots such as the Okinawa Prefectural Art Museum.

  • This hotel is located near Naha Airport, about 7 minutes by car. It is close to the downtown area, so it is convenient for dinner and convenience stores, and there is a large public bath, so you can relax after diving. We also recommend Kerama as a diving spot! The water is very clear, and you can see large creatures such as Napoleon fish and sea turtles!

  • There is a private beach

  • If you are planning a four-day, three-night trip to Okinawa with three friends, how about staying at The Moon Beach Museum Resort (Hotel Moon Beach)? This resort hotel is located about 60 minutes by car from Naha Airport. You can also get there by airport limousine bus. This hotel has a private beach where you can enjoy a variety of marine sports. There are also diving courses available for all levels, from beginners to advanced divers, so you can enjoy Okinawa 's beautiful sea to your heart's content with peace of mind.

  • Okinawa is easy to get around, so I recommend this hotel with good access.

  • How about "Renaissance Resort Okinawa" located in the center of Naha, about 60 minutes by car or 70 minutes by airport limousine bus from Naha Airport? There is a private beach nearby, and you can enjoy over 50 types of marine activities. The hotel also offers trial diving, and beginners can enjoy diving courses. The rooms are clean and the beach is beautiful, so you will feel close to the sea and I recommend it.

Hotel Sunset American

2-46 Miyagi, Chatan-cho, Nakagami-gun

  • Hotels near dining spots

  • The facilities are old, but the hotel is located along the beach in Chatan, Okinawa, a popular spot for surfing and diving, so you can check the ocean conditions from the hotel window at any time. If you become a member of the nearby diving shop Arc Dive, you can rent a tank for 500 yen (free of charge) and do buddy dives. After diving, you can take a shower right away after returning to your hotel room. There are also free washing machines and dryers. There are not many places to eat nearby and the supermarket is a little independent guest cottages, but it's not a problem as you can rent bicycles for free at the hotel.

Hotel East China Sea

2-8 Misakicho, Ishigaki-shi

  • Ishigaki Island is the best place for diving, and it's a perfect base for doing so.

  • It is no exaggeration to say that Ishigaki Island is the best place in Japan for diving! This hotel is very convenient, as it is close to both the ferry departure point (remote island pier) for the remote islands in Ishigaki Island, the downtown area that is convenient for dinner, and the port where the diving boat departs. It is a little independent guest cottages from the airport, but if the three of us take a taxi together, it will not be a problem. There are many shops around, so you can use your time other than diving effectively. The hotel is a little old, and since it is right in front of the port, the rust caused by the sea breeze on the handrails on the outside of the building is noticeable, but the rooms are pretty clean. It is a resort-like hotel, but there is no pool or garden, but if you are traveling for the purpose of diving, you will be exhausted by diving almost the whole day on the day of diving, so I think it is better to think mainly about after diving. Therefore, I recommend this place, where you can stay for less than 10,000 yen per person per night and enjoy meals and shopping nearby. The diving shop will pick you up at the hotel. So, it is a plan where you do not need to rent a car. The suggestion this time was to choose a hotel where diving is the main purpose.

ANA InterContinental Manza Beach Resort

2260 Seragaki Aza, Onna-Son

  • A resort hotel where you can enjoy diving at Manza Beach

  • This is a resort hotel located in Onna Village, Okinawa. The hotel and the sea are of course the best, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. There are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy on the private beach. You can fully enjoy the beautiful sea of Manza Beach with a trial dive. The hotel also has a large, open-air bath, so you can relax your tired body after diving.

Royal Hotel Okinawa Zanpamisaki (From April 1, 2024 Grand Mercure Okinawa Cape Zanpa Resort)

1575 Uza, Yomitan-son, Nakagami-gun

  • 15 minutes by car to the Blue Cave

  • The price is relatively cheap. There is a large public bath and an open-air bath where you can relax while looking at the beautiful sea, so you can relax after diving. This hotel is also recommended as a base for sightseeing. The popular Blue Cave is only a 15-minute drive away, so it's easy to get there, and the hotel can also arrange diving for you. The breakfast is delicious and has a wide variety of options, and the view from the rooms is amazing.

Club Med Ishigakijima

1 Ishizaki, Kabira, Ishigaki-shi

  • Ishigaki Island is recommended! The hotel is all-inclusive, with meals and entertainment all included in the price.

  • How about spending some time on Ishigaki Island? This resort hotel can be enjoyed by anyone, whether you are with friends, partner, or family. Since it is all-inclusive, there are almost no additional charges and you can eat, drink, and participate in activities. There is an additional charge for diving, but other sports and activities are mostly free with an instructor and are well-equipped.
