Hotel Seifuen

278-2 Tsukioka Onsen

  • This is an inn in Tsukioka Onsen (Shibata City)

  • I have stayed here with my family on a trip to Niigata before. There are various types of rooms and plans, including Japanese-style and Western-style rooms, and various types of hot springs. We also enjoyed a variety of local sake. It is relatively close to get there, with shuttle buses from Toyosaka Station and Shibata Station, which are about 20 minutes by train from Niigata Station, and 20 minutes by car from Yasuda IC.

453 Tsukioka Onsen

  • In Niigata, Tsukioka Onsen is a good choice.

  • There are rooms with open-air baths, so even if you drink a lot, you can sober up in your room and then take a bath. Of course, you can enjoy Echigo-style cuisine prepared by chefs who are proud of their skills in the open kitchen. It's fun because you can also purchase souvenirs such as Echigo Izumikei Ginjoshu.

Sado Resort Hotel Azuma

548-1 Aikawa Oura, Sado-city

  • You won't get bored even if you look at it for a whole day.

  • If you come to Niigata to enjoy the hot springs, why not try Sado instead? You can experience a different atmosphere from Honshu. The recommended hotel is "Sado Resort Hotel Azuma." It has a wonderful view.

Art Hotel Niigata Station

1-1 Sasaguchi, Chuo-ku

  • Conveniently located directly connected to the south exit of Niigata Station

  • This is a very convenient hotel directly connected to the south exit of Niigata Station. When staying in Niigata, this is the place to be. The food is delicious. I recommend the Echigo sake museum "Ponshukan" located in the station. There is so much sake that I think they have almost all of Niigata's sake. I also recommend the nearby restaurant "Negibouzu". Both the sake and the snacks are delicious.

Yumotoya Ryokan

91-1 Iwamuro Onsen, Nishikan-ku

  • We also recommend a tour of the sake brewery while touring Iwamuro Onsen and the surrounding area.

  • I recommend Iwamuro Onsen Yumotoya. The charm of this inn is that it actively welcomes guests with an event-like atmosphere. There are many plans that are perfect for girls' parties, families, and couples. There is also a hot spring that is said to be good for the skin. The food is recommended, as it has both seafood and meat.

Hotel Italiaken

7-1574 Nishiboridori, Chuo-ku

  • Great location and history

  • The hotel is full of history and romance, and the auspiciousness is great. There are many restaurants serving Japanese, Italian, Chugoku, and other cuisines, all of which are delicious and great. You can see the Sea of Japan from the hotel rooms. I have stayed here many times for business and with my family. It is also very convenient, as it is only a few minutes walk from the club area of Furumachi Street.

Akebono Hot Spring Hotel

552-4 Tsukioka Onsen, Shibata-shi

  • We recommend lodgings in Tsukioka Onsen.

  • Niigata is a very large area, so it's hard to decide where to stay, but assuming you want to stay somewhere close to Niigata city, I recommend Tsukioka Onsen Onsen, which is a little to the east. For 20,000 yen at a hotel in this area, you can enjoy a pretty good room and food. I think the seasonal dishes are perfect with local sake.

Masugata

  • Niigata inn with lake views from all rooms and great food

  • As the name suggests, this inn's specialty is traditional Japanese cuisine, and the food is outstandingly delicious. The ingredients used are carefully selected, and each dish is carefully prepared, making it a wonderful dish that can be enjoyed by both the eyes and the tongue. The inn itself has a calming atmosphere, so you can relax and unwind.

Kappo no Yado Sakuraya

1043 Yahiko, Yahiko-mura, Nishikanbara-gun

  • A hotel serving local sake and traditional cuisine, perfect for family trips

  • This inn is located just 30 seconds walk from Yahiko Station on the JR Yahiko Line. It's not flashy, but it's a small Japanese-style hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that takes pride in its cuisine. They have a wide selection of local sake from Niigata, a sake-producing region. You're guaranteed to drink until you're full of seasonal fish and produce caught in the Sea of Japan. The next morning, you'll be ready to go for a stroll around Yahiko Shrine with delicious koshihikari rice and a hearty breakfast. You might even get change from 20,000 yen.

Ryokan Chitose

49-1 Yumoto, Matsunoyama, Tokamachi-shi

  • An inn where you can enjoy local sake, including sake tasting comparisons

  • Niigata is famous for its sake, so many inns offer local sake, but this one in particular has a wide variety, so I recommend it. There is a wide variety of sake to choose from, including the sake "Echi no Hatsuume." The food was delicious local cuisine made with local ingredients, and it went really well with the sake. You can relax in the open-air bath while looking out at the garden, and the rooms also offer a panoramic view of nature, making it a really nice inn.

Sado National Park Hotel Oosado

288-2 Aikawakabuse, Sado-shi

  • I recommend Sado Island.

  • Why not go to Sado Island? The recommended accommodation is "Osado Onsen Hotel Osado". It is built at the tip of a cape, so it is very deserted. You can eat seafood dishes that use plenty of fresh seafood caught in the nearby sea.

Kanazawa Ryokan

263-2 Ryotsuminato, Sado City

  • A Meiji-era lodging in Sado recommended for Japanese history buffs

  • I'm not sure if this will completely meet your request for a place where you can enjoy local sake and food that goes well with it, but I think you should consider Kanazawaya Ryokan (Japanese inn), located in Ryotsu, the gateway to Sado Island, as one of your options. It's a relatively old, well-established Ryokan (Japanese inn), and the food was delicious.
