What are some recommended accommodations in the Kansai area where I can experience Shukubo lodging?
I'm interested in experiencing Shukubo lodging. I'd like to go in the season when the autumn leaves are beautiful. Are there Shukubo where I can experience morning religious services and zazen, eat vegetarian cuisine, and feel comfortable even for beginners?

- The Ninnaji Temple Shukubo in Kyoto are easy for beginners to experience. It is conveniently located for sightseeing, close to Kinkakuji Temple. The room did not have much of a Shukubo atmosphere, more like a private lodging. There was also a large public bath. The food was a luxurious kaiseki meal that you would never expect at Shukubo, and it was delicious. I went to bed early, participated in the morning service, and had a conversation, so I was able to spend my time there very meaningfully.ぽよよん's answer (Posted on:2015/12/23)
