What are some recommended accommodations in the Kansai area where I can experience Shukubo lodging?
I'm interested in experiencing Shukubo lodging. I'd like to go in the season when the autumn leaves are beautiful. Are there Shukubo where I can experience morning religious services and zazen, eat vegetarian cuisine, and feel comfortable even for beginners?

- Shukubo is located near Sanjusangendo Temple in Kyoto, and although it is called Shukubo, it is modern, so it is recommended for first-time Shukubo. You can view treasures such as the sliding screen paintings that Toyotomi Hideyoshi commissioned Hasegawa Tohaku to paint in memory of Tsurumatsu, who died at a young age, and the lodging is characterized by the fact that a monk will guide you through the temple. You can choose between Kyoto kaiseki and shojin ryori (traditional Japanese cuisine).旅好きトラベラー's answer (Posted on:2018/11/ 5)

Shukubo recommended for families and beginners
- The Chishaku-in Hall in Kyoto is easily accessible from Kyoto Station and is close to Sanjusangendo and the Kyoto National Museum. You can participate in the morning service and, as a reward, you can see Hasegawa Tohaku's sliding door paintings. The price is reasonable and it is the best recommendation for beginners to Shukuboexperience.ユーザー's answer (Posted on:2014/6/ 3)
