What hot springs in Aomori would you recommend? I'd like to stay at a nice Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a family bath. Thank you.

Yadoya Tsubaki

浅虫字蛍谷25

  • A lodging facility where you can enjoy a private bath without meals

  • Located in Asamushi Onsen, Aomori, "Yadoya Tsubaki" is a lodging facility that families can enjoy without meals. We enjoyed a relaxing bath in the three private baths and the large public bath. The convenient location, just a minute's walk from "Asamushi Onsen Station", is also an attractive feature. For meals, it seems that there are plans to deliver bento boxes from restaurants near the inn, or to eat at nearby restaurants. We were able to bring in food.

Inagaki Onsen Hotel Kagetsutei

Miyakawa 3-4, Toyokawa, Inagakicho, Tsugaru-shi

  • A detached inn in Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture

  • Located in Okutsugaru, this quiet inn is made entirely of Aomori cypress and has a beautiful garden. There is an open-air bath with a free-flowing hot spring water, where you can enjoy bath to view the snow in winter, and a private bath that can be used as a family bath. For dinner, we had a Japanese set meal course with local dishes. For breakfast, we had a Japanese set meal with healthy and easy-to-eat dishes such as grilled fish and miso soup.

Hot Spring Minamida Spa Hotel Apple Land

166-3 Machii Minamida

  • There is a bathtub with apples floating in it

  • Speaking of Aomori, it's all about apples! I recommend "Hotel Apple Land" in Minamida Onsen, Hirakawa City, Aomori Prefecture. As the name suggests, it was an interesting hotel that was all about apples. The large public bath was spacious and open, and many apples were floating in the tub. There were no apples in the private bath, but the cypress bath had a very nice scent and was very relaxing. The rooms were clean Japanese-style rooms with internet, so you could relax comfortably. The food Buffet had a variety of options, including local cuisine, apple dishes, and seafood from the seas off Aomori, which I was very satisfied with.

Hotel Grandmer Sankaisou

1, Naruto, Aza, Maito-machi

  • A scenic hotel surrounded by the beautiful Sea of Japan, Mt. Iwaki and the Shirakami Mountains.

  • If you're in Aomori Prefecture, how about staying at Hotel Grand Mer Sankaisou? This hotel has a beautiful view, surrounded by the beautiful Sea of Japan, Mt. Iwaki, and the Shirakami Mountains. You can enjoy the hot springs in the spacious, open-air bath, the refreshing open-air bath overlooking the Sea of Japan, and the private baths. For dinner, we had a delicious Japanese meal made with luxurious ingredients such as live abalone, the rare fish of Ajigasawa, the huchen, and domestic Japanese black beef.

Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen

Henashi Shimokiyotaki 15-1

  • An open-air bath overlooking the Sea of Japan that has been featured in the media

  • The most recommended place in Aomori is Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen, which has been featured quite a bit in the media. The baths are the best. The open-air bath at the edge of the water is especially famous, and Breathtaking view of the Sea of Japan right in front of you is spectacular, especially the sunrise and sunset, which I think are some of the best views of any hot spring in Japan. It's moving. I think it's worth coming all the way here and is a hot spring that everyone should visit at least once. There is also a large public bath with a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan. The hotel facilities and service are honestly just average. The food is satisfying, with seafood from the Sea of Japan to enjoy. The rooms are honestly just average. I don't think there is a family bath, but it's still worth going just to take a bath in the open-air bath, and I recommend it the most out of all the hot springs in Aomori.

Tabinoyado Saikawa

Itadome Miyashita 8-1

  • A hot spring resort in a place rich in nature

  • Tabinoyado Saikawa is Ryokan (Japanese inn) in the Kuroishi Onsen hot spring area, located about 30 minutes by car from Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture towards Yamate. It is a small, old-fashioned inn with a calming atmosphere, and we were able to spend a very atmospheric time there. There was an indoor bath with 100% natural hot spring and a small, atmospheric family bath. We were able to enjoy the onsen trip to the fullest, as we were able to enjoy the delicious cuisine prepared by landlady, who used an abundance of local ingredients. Even with meals included, it was reasonably priced at less than 20,000 yen per person.
