  • Please tell me a hot spring inn that is close to Nagoya and can be reached by train.

I'm planning to go on a gourmet trip to Nagoya with a friend. I want to stay at a hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) rather than a business hotel. Are there any recommended hot spring inns within about an hour and a half by train from Nagoya?

  • You can see Inuyama Castle and the Kisone River.

  • It takes about 40 minutes by train from Nagoya Station to get to the inn. You can see Inuyama Castle from both the room and the open-air bath. The Kiso River flows right in front of you, so you can relax. For meals, we had kaiseki cuisine, including teppanyaki and autumn salmon with hoba miso, and everything was very delicious.

  • About 40 minutes from Nagoya

  • How about "Hasshokaku Mizunowo"? It is a 7-minute walk from "Inuyama-Yuen Station" on the Meitetsu Inuyama Line, and about 40 minutes from Nagoya. The inn overlooks Inuyama Castle. The bath has an open-air bath facing the Kiso River, and you can enjoy a garden-like view. For meals, you can enjoy kaiseki cuisine made with seasonal ingredients.

  • A charming Ryokan (Japanese inn) overlooking the Kiso River

  • Hasshokaku Mizunowo is an Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Inuyama Onsen, Aichi Prefecture. It is about 30 minutes by rapid train from Meitetsu Nagoya, and is a short walk from Inuyama-Yuen Station. Located along the Kiso River, you can fully enjoy the hot springs in the garden-style open-air bath and large glass-walled bath. The rooms are spacious and relaxing. There are also Japanese-style rooms on the Kiso River side where you can see Inuyama Castle. The meals are made with plenty of local ingredients, and you can enjoy the food while looking out at the national treasure, Inuyama Castle.
