  • I want to introduce a lodging that has a mascot dog to my foreign friends coming to Japan!

A friend from my time studying abroad in New Zealand is coming to Japan. My friend loves dogs and wants to stay with me at a hotel that has a mascot dog. There aren't many places like that, so anywhere in the country is fine! Please tell me your recommended hot spring inns that have mascot dogs! (It doesn't matter what kind of dog it is, whether it's a Japanese dog or a Western dog)

SANWASO

  • A hot spring inn in Yamanashi Prefecture where you'll be greeted by a mascot dog!

  • "Sanwaso at Momonoki Onsen" is an inn with a mascot dog. You will be greeted by Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, and Japanese Kai dogs. Meals include local cuisine and country cuisine centered around local vegetables. If your friend is interested in the hot spring, you can relax in the large bath and open-air bath with 100% natural hot spring, making this a recommended inn.

Hakone Gora Guam Dog

  • A recommended inn with a bath perfect for foreigners and a mascot dog

  • "Guam Dog Main Branch" is an inn in Hakone Gora Onsen, perfect for staying with foreigners. It is a hot spring inn with modern interior and a mascot dog of your choice. There is a plan with two meals included, such as Sendai beef and puffer fish sashimi, and the dishes made with very fresh ingredients were luxurious. The hot spring is spacious enough to relax in, and the atmosphere is familiar, so I think it is perfect for foreigners.

Ogoto-Spa Dantoukan Kikunoya Ryokan

6-1-29 Ogoto, Otsu-shi

  • I have a 6-year-old white Shiba Inu named Mametaro.

  • How about "Kikunoya" in Ogoto Onsen? There is a white Shiba Inu named Mametaro here. He has a friendly personality and is great at taking photos and seeing people off. The hot spring is an alkaline simple spring that is gentle on the skin and good for beauty. You can enjoy a relaxing bath in the large public bath or open-air bath. For dinner, the Omi beef kaiseki course is popular and can be enjoyed at your leisure in your room.

Hotel Epinard Nasu

1 Takakuhei

  • A cute dog is waiting for you

  • A cute mascot dog greets you and is very relaxing. There is an open-air bath and a large indoor bath, both of which are spacious and relaxing, making it a very pleasant hot spring. Both dinner and breakfast are served Buffet style, so you can enjoy both Japanese and Western cuisine. The food is very delicious as it makes use of seasonal ingredients. I'm sure foreigners will be satisfied as well.

Masugataya

  • A long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) where you will be greeted by a mascot dog

  • This is a long-established Ryokan (Japanese inn) that we highly recommend to foreigners, as it allows you to experience the atmosphere of a Japanese hot spring. It is popular for its two mascot dogs that welcome you. The water is 100% natural hot spring, and there are private baths available. The local Yamagata cuisine is rare for foreigners, and you will be satisfied with the rough flavors. This is Ryokan (Japanese inn) that is full of the atmosphere of a Japanese hot spring.

Nagisaen

  • It is a small hotel with only 6 rooms.

  • Izu Kogen Nagisaen has a mascot dog, a teacup poodle. Although dogs are not allowed in the hot springs, there is an open-air bath and an indoor bath that can be rented for free. There is a cage for dogs in the changing room, making it an easy-to-use hotel for travelers with dogs. Meals made with fresh Izu seafood and local vegetables can be served in the room. Dinner is usually Japanese, but Western food can also be provided upon request.
