  • Do you have any recommendations for hot spring inns with open-air baths where you can view the snow?

I've been dating my girlfriend for two years now and we've been talking about going to a hot spring inn in the winter. Can you tell me where we can enjoy a nice open-air bath with a view of the snow?

Konashi no Yu Sasaya

4182-1, Azumi, Matsumoto-shi

  • Breathtaking view is simply breathtaking.

  • The strong acidic, tingling water is effective for beautiful skin, and your girlfriend will be happy. This is a charming inn built in an old house that was relocated, and it has a private open-air bath. You can also check the snowfall in Shirobone and Matsumoto City in advance on live cameras from hot springs and Nagano Broadcasting. If you are coming from the Tokyo area, you can take the JR Azusaka Express Bus from Shinjuku to Matsumoto, then take the Matsumoto Dentetsu Line and a taxi for about four hours to get to this otherworldly place.

Niseko Northern Resort Annupuri

480-1 Niseko NisekoCho Abutagun

  • You can enjoy bath to view the snow

  • This is a region in Hokkaido that receives a lot of snow, so I think there will be snow until early May. The hotel's open-air bath is not very large, but the spring quality is good and it warms your skin and leaves it smooth. The interior of the building has an adult atmosphere, so you can relax and enjoy your time there.

Okuhida Hot Spring Miyama Ouan

229 Hirayu, Onsengou, Okuhida

  • You can enjoy a wonderful bath to view the snow

  • Shinhotaka is an area where it snows a lot, and you can enjoy bath to view the snow. I stayed in a room with an open-air bath at this inn. It was a semi-open-air bath, so it was indoors, but the window frames were large and there was no glass inset, so I was able to enjoy the atmosphere just as much as an open-air bath. The room had a warm atmosphere filled with the warmth of wood. All the food was delicious, but the Hida beef was the best. It was a quiet inn.

The Lake View TOYA Nonokaze Resort

29-1 Toyako Onsen, Toyako-cho, Abuda-Gun

  • A lovely ambience hotel

  • The entire building has been renovated to a modern Japanese style, giving the hotel a wonderful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, so you can have a pleasant stay. There are also rooms with open-air baths, so you can enjoy the hot springs at your own pace. The large public bath is also spacious, and the open-air bath in particular is designed so that the surface of Lake Toya blends into the bath, allowing you to fully enjoy the snowy scenery outside.

Otaru Asari Classe Hotel

2-676 Asarigawa-onsen

  • There is a shuttle bus from Otaru

  • There is a shuttle bus from Otaru, so you can travel safely in winter. There is a ski resort nearby, so you can also do sightseeing in Otaru. There is an open-air bath where you can see the snow, and as it is a resort hotel, the facilities are well-equipped. Because it is in Otaru, the food is also delicious, and there are delicious sushi restaurants and sweets near Otaru Station.

Jozankei View Hotel

2-111-3 Jozankeihigashi,Minamiku

  • When you think of snow-viewing hot springs, Jozankei is the place to go!

  • If you want to see snow, there's no reason not to go to Hokkaido. The Snow Festival is also a good time to invite your girlfriend. The food in Hokkaido is delicious, so I highly recommend it! However, you need to be careful because transportation costs are high and there are no flights on snowy days. This hotel has a spacious public bath and an open-air bath with Breathtaking view, so you can relax and enjoy the snow in the bath.

Ichirino Kogen Hotel Roan

CHI-70-4, Ozo, Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture

  • Lodging next to the ski resort

  • It's next to a ski resort, so there's plenty of snow. Of course, the open-air bath with a view of the snow is very tasteful, and it can be rented for private use, so you can enjoy it with just the two of you. If you're an adult, you can enjoy a drink while watching the snow. The atmosphere of the relocated old house and the food served around Japanese hearth are excellent, with no fishy smell.

  • I recommend the Hida region. Among them, I recommend Okuhida Garden Hotel Yakedake. There are several baths, so you can Visiting hot springs in different baths within the hotel. There are also several open-air baths, so you can enjoy a very comfortable bath to view the snow to your heart's content.

Tenbourotennoyu Arimakan Ryokan

6-5 Shinyu,Kaminoyama city

  • You can relax and enjoy the snow in a private open-air bath.

  • There is a private open-air bath, so you can relax with your girlfriend and enjoy the snow. You can also enjoy delicious Yamagata beef. There are also many foot baths in the area, so be sure to soak your feet in one of those. There is a castle called Kaminoyama Castle, which is a tourist attraction. Another memorable experience is ringing the "Bell of Happiness" at Hanasakiyama Observatory, a sacred place for partner. There are also many places where you can pick fruit, although I'm not sure if they do it in the winter. PS. Well, I wish you happiness.

Hanamaki Ryokan Airinkan

23 Namari, Hanamaki-shi

  • An inn with hot springs from a wide variety of sources.

  • This hotel is located in Hanamaki Onsen, Iwate Prefecture. The hot springs have an abundance of hot spring sources and over 10 baths, so even hot spring lovers will be satisfied. You can also drink the spring water, so why not give it a try? There are also private baths, so it's recommended for families and couples. For meals, they also serve French toast baked in a stone oven.

Kawafuru Onsen Hamaya Ryokan

2577 Minakamiaimata, Tonegun

  • A secret hot spring tucked away in the depths of Sarugakyo

  • Kawago Onsen Hamaya Ryokan (Japanese inn) is a hidden hot spring that sits quietly in the depths of Sarugakyo. You can enjoy the indoor hot spring, which is surprisingly high quality with the amount of bubbles that cling to your body, and the Mixed-Gender Hot Springs outdoor bath, which is slightly warm so you can enjoy the hot spring for a long time, which is another reason for its popularity. Since the area gets a lot of snow in the winter, you can enjoy the snow-viewing outdoor bath from December to March.

Hoshino Resorts Aomoriya

56 Furumakiyama, Misawa-shi

  • Hoshino Resorts is recommended

  • This hotel was wonderful! The open-air bath with a view of the snow was lit up in winter, and it was very fantastic and moving. Also, at dinner there was a festival unique to Aomori and a Tsugaru shamisen show, which made for a fun meal. The rooms and food were both very nice, so I definitely recommend you consider this hotel as one of your options.

Ginzanso

85 Ginzan Shinhata, Obanazawa-shi

  • Snow-viewing open-air bath

  • There is a recommended inn in Ginzan Onsen, which is popular for its Taisho-era romance. It is a little independent guest cottages from the center of Ginzan Onsen, which you often see in photos, but I think the facilities are probably the best. And the open-air bath was really good. In winter, you can experience the open-air bath while watching the snow.
