It's a hot spring inn surrounded by beech forests, and nearby there are seven small ponds, large and small, called the Tsuta Nananuma. This hot spring is a historic hot spring that was discovered during the Heian period, and the source of the hot spring bubbles up from under your feet. The rooms are also retro and charming. • The building is old, but the water is good. There are nine hot springs in Hakkoda, so be sure to check them out. I also recommend the Yunohana mineral deposits at Sarukura Onsen. One of the joys of Hakkoda is that the quality of the hot springs is completely different from one another. Tsuta Onsen is not often visited by people from Aomori, but it is a good hot spring to stay overnight.

• Sarukura is also recommended near Sukayu, but it wasn't on my list of hotels to choose from, so I'll introduce Yachi hot spring, which is also highly recommended and has the Sandai Secret hot spring. This is also a historic inn, but if you're looking for hot spring this is the one to go for! By the way, the Senninburo bath at Sukayu Onsen has a women-only time. It opens at 8pm and you can also enter the men's area, so Sukayu Onsen is actually the most recommended. (There are other baths besides the Senninburo, and the food is great, so next time I'll definitely go to Sukayu Onsen.)
