  • Ikaho Onsen Shinki
  • Are there any English support accommodations in Ikaho Onsen?

I'm taking friend from abroad to Ikaho Onsen. I'm worried that friend, who doesn't understand Japanese, will feel uneasy every time I leave my seat. I'd like to know a place where the staff can English support and where foreigner can spend their time without worrying about the language barrier!

  • This is a lodge that offers full service.

  • If you are looking for an inn in Ikaho Onsen that offers English service, I recommend this one. There are many foreign tourists in Ikaho Onsen, so you don't have to worry about anything. If you come across a foreigner in need of help, they will gladly speak to you, so everyone is happy.

Hotel Tenbo

396-20 Ikaho, Ikaho-machi, Shibukawa-shi

  • A variety of baths to satisfy foreigners

  • Hotel Tenbo is an inn that has two hot springs, "Kogane no Yu" and "Shirogane no Yu," which are characteristic of Ikaho Onsen, and offers a variety of baths, including a rock bath and an open-air bath, where you can enjoy the finest hot springs. The inn also welcomes many foreign guests, and the reception desk staff can speak English as well as Chugoku. In addition to the hot springs, you will surely be satisfied with the food, which includes ingredients unique to Gunma Prefecture and local cuisine from northern Kanto.

Ryokan Sakurai (Ikaho Onsen)

210-2 Ikaho, Ikaho-machi, Shibugawa-shi

  • A large public bath where you can relax while gazing at Mount Haruna and Mount Akagi

  • If you're in Ikaho Onsen, how about staying at Ryokan (Japanese inn) Sakurai? The baths are not cloudy, but the large communal bath where you can relax while taking in the views of Mount Haruna and Mount Akagi is quite nice, and there are also private baths available. Prices are reasonable, and the meals are plentiful, so we recommend it. In addition to having English-speaking staff, they also have a translation app that allows foreign guests to speak English, so that no matter which staff is accommodating, foreign guests will not have any problems.

Ikaho Onsen Ryokan Hibikino

403-125 Ikaho, Ikahomachi, Shibukawa

  • Separate guest room with open-open-air bath

  • I thoroughly enjoyed kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )which was made with carefully selected ingredients. The vegetables were grown by a special farmer, and all of them had a strong flavor and were really delicious. I saw some foreign staff working there, so I don't think you'll have any problems speaking English.

Hotel Kogure

135 Ikaho, Ikaho-machi, Shibukawa-city

  • Although the quality is not high, you can still communicate with foreigners who speak English.

  • At one time they were dealing with inbound tourists and had to deal with foreigners, so they have a customer service manual in English. As a hot spring resort, it is one of the leading tourist destinations in the country, so there are no problems at all. Many of the buildings are registered cultural properties of Japan, so it's definitely worth a visit. There are 21 baths, and you can enjoy the golden waters that Ikaho Onsen is proud of, flowing freely. There are various baths, including a mist sauna, dry sauna, open-air cold water bath, open-air bath, and massage bath. There is also a germanium bedrock bath, but this is available for a fee. Meals are Japanese kaiseki and breakfast is Buffet, with Western food available of course, and there is also an abundance of local cuisine.

Mimatsukan

131, Ikahomachi Ikaho

  • open-air bath with a view of the foothills of Joshu and the Ryukyu tatami bath are popular with foreigner too.

  • "Mimatsukan" is a popular hot spring inn that is often used by foreigners. It is in a great location, just a 3-minute walk from the "Stone Steps Street," the tourist symbol of Ikaho Onsen, and has an open-air observation bath with a panoramic view of the foothills of Joshu, so I think you will be satisfied and this inn is a good choice.

Omori

Ikaho-machi Ikaho 58

  • There is an open-air bath on the rooftop with Breathtaking view.

  • "Wagokoro no Yado Omori" is recommended as it offers English language support. It is a long-established inn that was founded over 100 years ago, and you can enjoy a Japanese atmosphere in a lovely Japanese-style room or a Japanese-Japanese and Western room. There is an open-air bath on the rooftop with a magnificent Breathtaking view, and you can enjoy a drink while soaking in the tub. There is also a private open-air bath, so you can bathe in private. Dinner is kaiseki(a traditional Japanese multiple course meal )made with locally produced ingredients, and you can also drink delicious local sake.

Chigira Jinsentei

45 Ikaho, Ikahomachi, Shibukawa-shi

  • An inn where you can enjoy carefully selected local flavors

  • I'm not sure if they cater to foreigners, but since it's a large hotel, there's a good chance they do. The building is modern and Japanese-style, so I think foreigners will be very pleased. They serve both Japanese and Western food, so it's perfect for anyone.

Ikaho Onsen Todoroki

106 Ikaho, Ikaho-machi, Shibukawa-shi

  • The hotel is located next to the stone steps.

  • Whether or not English support depends on the staff on the day, so I can't say for sure, but this accommodation is close to sightseeing spots, so I think even foreigners can go to their favorite places by One person. Most of the famous spots are fixed, so I think you don't have to worry too much.

  • This is an inn that many foreigner visit.

  • From my experience, I got the impression that there are many foreign guests and that the service is attentive and many guests are satisfied. The staff are also friendly and it is a truly enjoyable inn. That won't change even if you are the only foreigner staying.
