  • This hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) is convenient for sightseeing in Gunma.

  • This is a hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) in Gunma where you can enjoy buffet-style meals. The meals are recommended as they have a wide variety of dishes, mainly Western cuisine. There are a variety of baths, such as the "Komakusa no Yu" which offers a panoramic view of Tsumagoi's nature, and the "Shakunage no Yu" which has a roof, so hot spring lovers will also enjoy it. There is also a shuttle service from Karuizawa, so it is recommended as a base for sightseeing in Gunma.

  • It's a buffet so foreigners can feel at ease.

  • This is a hotel where food is served buffet style. There are a variety of Japanese and Western dishes on the menu, and even foreigners can enjoy a wide variety of food. The family room is 38 square meters and is spacious and air-conditioned. The living room is spacious and by the window, so the bedroom on the corridor side had a good air conditioning. The hot spring has an open-air bath with a view of the mountains stretching out into the distance.

  • This is a recommended inn with a buffet restaurant.

  • If you're visiting Manza Onsen, Prince Hotel is the best recommendation. It's also popular with foreigners. Manza Onsen is located at an altitude of 1,800m, and is the highest hot spring in Japan that can be reached by car all year round. It is known as the "hot spring closest to the stars". The hot spring is acidic, sulfur-containing, magnesium, sodium, and sulfur salt hot spring water. The milky white hot spring has a skin-beautifying effect. The open-air bath with Breathtaking view of the distant mountains and the starry night sky is truly soothing. The natural beauty of the four seasons will make you forget your daily fatigue. There is a buffet restaurant you can choose from. There are also main dining areas serving Japanese, Chinese, French, and Italian cuisine, so you can choose your favorite meal, which is another attraction of this hotel.

  • A hot spring inn where you can enjoy the sounds of snow

  • It may not be exactly what you'd call hot spring, but the snow scenery you can see from open-air bath is what makes this inn so recommended. You walk through the snow (just a little) from the large bath, and the atmosphere of open-air bath you can see at the end is great. There is no ceiling, so when it snows, you can hear the "plop plop" sound of the snow melting in the bathtub. That sound really gets you excited about open-air bath in the snow.

  • The view from the open-air bath is very beautiful.

  • How about a first shrine visit of the year at Manza Onsen Yakushido? It's a great way to feel at an altitude of 1,800m. There are a lot of people gathering there. As for nearby hot spring inns, I recommend the Manza Prince Hotel, which is about a 15-minute walk away. It's in the mountains, so the open-air bath surrounded by nature has a great view. There is also a Mixed-Gender Hot Springs-gender open-air bath. There is also a women-only covered open-air bath. The plan we used didn't include meals, but it was less than 10,000 yen. There are about four restaurants, so you can order Chinese, Western, and other food a la carte for a cheap price. The staff are also very friendly.
