• Although it wasn't Nebuta Festival season, I stayed at Iroha Ryokan (Japanese inn) on a business trip. It's very accessible, just a minute's walk from Aomori Station, but as you can tell from the exterior, it has a historic feel. It's not a hotel with the latest facilities. However, the landlady was very friendly, and I felt a warmth that you don't get in a business hotel. Many backpackers from overseas were staying here, probably because of the low price of this inn. The breakfast was delicious, and I would definitely recommend it if you're just looking for a place to sleep.

  Answered question: I want to go to the Nebuta Festival! I can't make a reservation at the standard accommodations, so please tell me about some hidden gems.
