You can enjoy the excitement from the starting tunnel. For lodging, I recommend the Rihga Royal Hotel. The accommodation fee is quite high, but the rooms are spacious and relaxing. It is a little independent guest cottages from Osaka Station, but there is a free shuttle bus from the station, so it is not inconvenient.
