- Shima Onsen in Gunma Prefecture is located near the end of a road. It is quiet and has a nice atmosphere, as if you are in another world, cut off from the rest of the world. Among them, this inn has a long history. The "main building" was built in 1691, and the old-fashioned wooden architecture somehow evokes a sense of nostalgia, overwhelming you no matter where you look, from the exterior to the interior. As for the hot springs, "Genroku no Yu" is a bathhouse with a high ceiling and a slightly Western-style "high-collar" feel that you won't find anywhere else. Sekizenkan Main Building in Shima Onsen
- This hot spring inn is said to have been the model for the Ghibli movie "Spirited Away." It is a historic Ryokan (Japanese inn) with hot springs that was founded over 300 years ago. The red bridge in front of Ryokan (Japanese inn) is very tasteful and atmospheric. It is the oldest surviving hot spring inn in Japan, and is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Gunma Prefecture. Shima Onsen in Gunma Prefecture was the first national health resort hot spring. It might be a good idea to take a relaxing bath in this hot spring resort.
