How about the Kinugawa Onsen "Asaya Hotel" in Tochigi Prefecture Nikko? Several hot springs Ryokan (Japanese inn) stand along the Kinugawa River along the mountain stream. The lobby is very impressive and the blow-up is a bit amazing. The onsen, of course, have a very well-stocked souvenir shop, karaoke and game corner, table tennis and billiards, and other facilities for the enjoyment of children and adults alike. For Hatsumode, I recommend Nikko Toshogu Shrine!
