The natural hot spring water is of good quality and is easily accessible.

This hotel is just a short walk from Nagano Station, and there is a convenience store nearby so you can easily buy snacks, and there is a specialty sake store in the shopping district so you can compare authentic Japanese sake. Miso is also sold there and the detailed explanations make it easy to choose. The rooms are simple business hotels so the prices are reasonable and you can soak in the hot spring baths.

We recommend Shirahone Onsen in Shinshu
-
How about visiting Shirahone Onsen in Matsumoto, Shinshu? A recommended Ryokan (Japanese inn) with a hot spring is "Awanoyu Ryokan (Japanese inn)." The attraction here is the large open-air bath. It is built in the middle of nature and has a great atmosphere. It is Mixed-Gender Hot Springs bath with a deep milky white water.

Touring sake breweries along the Koshu Kaido
-
How about taking a tour of the five sake breweries along the Koshu Kaido? It's easy to get to from Kami-Suwa Station. The Gokuraku Sake Brewery Tour ticket is available all year round and is a good deal. For a place to stay, I recommend Kami-Suwa Onsen Shinyu. They have a wide selection of local Shinshu sake. The hot springs are also enjoyable, with fully tiled baths and tatami baths.
