Sado Island is famous for seafood and old gold mines, but there are many places with beautiful scenery on this island. The hotel I recommend is "Osado Onsen Hotel Osado." It's a hotel with Breathtaking view view. You can see the majestic sunset over the Sea of Japan. It's best if the weather is clear.

Enjoy the sunset in a room facing the Sea of Japan
-
If you want to enjoy the sunset from your room, this inn is also recommended. Depending on the room, it is on the seafront, so you can see the magnificent view of the Sea of Japan in front of you, and the crimson-hued sky and sea. The inn is decorated with art related to Sado, so you can also experience the history and culture of Sado. For dinner, we had a lot of fresh local seafood. open-air bath is also great.

Recommended hotels on Sado Island where you can see the sunset over the Sea of Japan
-
This hotel offers a view of the sun setting over the ocean. Among them, there are rooms facing the ocean. There is a twin room facing the ocean, and a plan with two meals and one night stay where you can enjoy Sado island cuisine. The view from the large hot spring bath is also amazing. Because it is made of glass, you can't feel the wind, but it feels as impressive as an open-air bath. There is abundant nature all around, so it is open and you can forget about your busy days.

The sunset over Mutsu Bay is Breathtaking view.
-
We recommend Kaisenkaku, located close to hot spring Onsen Station in Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. It's amazing to see the sun slowly sink into the bay as you gaze out at the expansive Mutsu Bay from open-air bath. Accommodation fees are higher during Obon, the New Year's holidays, and early August when the Nebuta Festival takes place. Prices are much cheaper off-season.

A Meiji-era lodging in Sado recommended for Japanese history buffs
-
I'm not sure if this will completely meet your request for a place where you can enjoy local sake and food that goes well with it, but I think you should consider Kanazawaya Ryokan (Japanese inn), located in Ryotsu, the gateway to Sado Island, as one of your options. It's a relatively old, well-established Ryokan (Japanese inn), and the food was delicious.

The sunset over the Sea of Japan is captivating.
-
When I went to Yunohama hot spring in Yamagata, I stayed at Kameya for one night, and the sunset over the Sea of Japan I saw from open-air bath was beautiful. Of course, you can see the sunset from your room. The food, which uses local ingredients, is also very delicious, and makes you want to drink alcohol. Looking at the historic building, it seems expensive, but I was able to stay there for a surprisingly reasonable price.

Its location offers a panoramic view of the sea.
-
It is about a 40-minute bus ride from Tsuruoka Station on the JR Uetsu Line. The rooms are in an excellent location with the sea right in front of them, and you can watch the sun sink into the sky from the window. Some rooms have an open-air bath where you can enjoy a view of the Sea of Japan. In addition to the indoor bath, there is an open-air cypress bath where you can enjoy a view of the sea. The facility also has a well-equipped lounge where you can relax while looking out at the Japanese garden. We recommend using it after your bath.

Experience the beautiful sunset at Yunohama
-
This inn is built on the coast, and the Sea of Japan is right in front of you. You can see a beautiful sunset from your room. For dinner, we had a delicious kaiseki meal with plenty of seafood in a private dining room. The specialty, Hamayaki, was very tasty. The large communal bath was nice, with a large indoor bath and a spacious outdoor bath made of rocks.

An inn where you can enjoy local sake, including sake tasting comparisons
-
Niigata is famous for its sake, so many inns offer local sake, but this one in particular has a wide variety, so I recommend it. They have a wide variety of sake, including the sake "Echi no Hatsuume." The food was delicious local cuisine made with local ingredients, and it went really well with the sake. You can relax in open-air bath while looking out at the garden, and the rooms also have a great panoramic view of Nature, so it was a really nice inn.

A hotel serving local sake and traditional cuisine, perfect for family trips
-
This inn is located just 30 seconds walk from Yahiko Station on the JR Yahiko Line. It's not flashy, but it's a small Japanese-style hot spring Ryokan (Japanese inn) that takes pride in its cuisine. They have a wide selection of local sake from Niigata, a sake-producing region. You're guaranteed to drink until you're full of seasonal fish and produce caught in the Sea of Japan. The next morning, you'll be ready to go for a stroll around Yahiko Shrine with delicious koshihikari rice and a hearty breakfast. You might even get change from 20,000 yen.

An inn with a view of the Agano River that is like a landscape painting
-
It's a small hot spring inn, but the sunset you can see from the private bath is Breathtaking view. You can see the Agano River and it's beautiful. If you book early, you can get a pretty reasonable price. The scenery is most beautiful in winter, but it's cold, so other times of the year are just right. There are times when there are no hair dryers in the rooms, so if you're going as married couple, you can borrow one at reception desk for peace of mind.

open-air bath where the sun sets is a highlight.
-
Not only can you see the sunset from your room, but open-air bath is so spacious that you can see it from the indoor bath as well. You can even see the sauna from a certain angle. The water and towels provided after the bath (in addition to those in the room) are also a nice touch. And best of all, the food is delicious!! Both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying. This is hot spring that you'll want to stay at for not just one night, but two.

Recommended accommodation in Yunohama hot spring
-
This hot spring inn is located in Yunohama hot spring in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. It is in a very unusual location, built on the sandy beach itself. Therefore, there is no obstruction to the Sea of Japan, and the view is outstanding. The sunset seen from open-air bath on the roof was beautiful. However, it is cold in winter.

We recommend lodgings in Tsukioka Onsen.
-
Niigata is a very large area, so it's hard to decide where to stay, but assuming you want to stay somewhere close to Niigata city, I recommend Tsukioka Onsen Onsen, which is a little to the east. For 20,000 yen at a hotel in this area, you can enjoy a pretty good room and food. I think the seasonal dishes are perfect with local sake.

A hotel in a great location with a beautiful sunset view
-
You can get to the hotel from Ryotsu Port at a great price with a "fixed-price taxi." You can go up to the hotel's rooftop, so you can enjoy a wide view of the sunset in the evening. The hotel is clean, and the beds are fluffy and will soothe your fatigue. You can also enjoy meals within your budget, and the baths are rich in minerals that incorporate sea ingredients, so they will warm your body.
