7-1 Ekimaecho, Yokote

Komagatake-2-1 Tazawako Obonai

  • A hotel with high-quality hot spring and meals

  • It is easy to get to by train, just a 0-minute walk from the Ugo Kotsu Nyuto Onsen Kyukamura stop. There are trees all around and the air is fresh. This hotel focuses on food, and you can enjoy Akita specialties all-you-can-eat buffet style. There are two types of baths, and the hot spring is of high quality, so I recommend it.

  • The private open-air bath at Tsuru no Yu Annex Yama no Yado is recommended for families

  • This is the annex of Tsuru no Yu in Nyuto Onsenkyo, but compared to the main building, the rooms here are more spacious and there is also a private open-air bath, so the whole family can relax in it. This private open-air bath can also be used in the evenings and mornings, so it was great to be able to spend time with my family while watching the beautiful starry sky. If you stay at a mountain inn, you can also use the hot springs at the main building of Tsuru no Yu for free. The main building of Tsuru no Yu tends to get crowded during the day with day-trippers, but if you stay at a mountain inn, you can enjoy bathing in the evenings and other times when guests are staying overnight. Also, cooking around Japanese hearth is a true pleasure of a mountain trip, and I'm sure your children will enjoy it!

  • There is a mini snow igloo inside the hotel.

  • There were not many hotels in Yokote, and most of them were business hotels. Also, the hotels quickly filled up, so it was difficult to find a place to stay. If you are looking for convenience, Yokote Ekimae hot spring Yuyu Plaza, located in front of the station, is convenient. The spring water is good and hot spring feels good. I couldn't stay overnight, so I just dropped in, but it is a recommended hot spring. I stayed in Kakunodate, which is a little independent guest cottages from Yokote, because I was driving. I can't recommend it if you don't have a car, but... If you see the snow igloos in Yokote and hurry back to Kakunodate, you will be able to make it in time for dinner. It was a delicious dinner (I was able to choose the Kiritanpo hotpot course). Unfortunately, the hotel is not hot spring (there is no large public bath), but if you really want to take a bath in hot spring, there is hot spring like a public bath nearby, so you can take hot spring there.

50-1 Kusakibara, Kitaurayumoto, Oga-shi

  • Enjoy a performance of the specialty dish "Isoyaki"

  • The Oga Peninsula where the hotel is located is known as the home of Namahage. It belongs to the Oga hot spring, and hot spring are free-flowing from the source. The specialty here is the fisherman's local dish "isoyaki." This dish involves putting hot stones into a tub containing fish and boiling it instantly, and as it cooks in an instant, the deliciousness of the seafood is locked in. Near the hotel is "Namahage Sato Kagura," a facility where you can see Namahage, so be sure to visit there as well.

52 Kusakihara Kitaurayumoto, Oga, Akita Prefecture 010-0687

  • This is a friendly hot spring inn where Namahage drum shows are also held.

  • The reason we recommend this inn is that it is like Oga's Namahage Ryokan (Japanese inn), where you can fully immerse yourself in the Namahage atmosphere. There is a Namahage drum show after dinner, which gets the guests all excited and enthusiastic, and the hot spring water taps are also shaped like Namahage, which is very impressive. The inn is located in a place where you can see the Sea of Japan, and you can enjoy delicious hot pots and local dishes, so it is a great place to relax with the family. By the way, the Namahage drummers are young and cool, so your daughter will probably be happy rather than scared.

3014 Shibukurozawa Kokuyurin, Tamagawa, Tazawako, Semboku-shi

  • This is truly a place for therapeutic bathing!

  • Nyuto Onsen The township is located at independent guest cottages, but you should definitely visit this place. It is truly a hot-spring cure. It is said to be so effective that people with symptoms they want to overcome come all the way to visit. It is also full of elegance. The autumn leaves in fall are the best. In winter, you will feel like you are in Northern Europe as you travel by snowmobile.
