  • All guest rooms are independent guest cottages

  • If you are looking for a place to stay in Yufuin Onsen that has a private bath, I recommend Yufunosho. All rooms here are independent guest cottages, so you can spend some time just for the two of you. The only hot springs available are those with indoor baths in the rooms or private hot springs. The private baths are amazing because you can soak in the water while gazing at the starry sky.

  • The largest hotel on Yakushima

  • I went to Yakushima 10 years ago. It is the largest hotel in Yakushima and has a 33,000m2 garden. When you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a huge Yakusugi tree that reaches up to the second floor. I don't know if it's still there, but when I went to Yakusugi Land by bus, I was surprised that the guests of Iwasaki Hotel were allowed to board even when it wasn't a bus stop, and when we came across a deer in the mountains on the way, the bus stopped and we had time to take photos. It was a wonderful trip.

  • The locally produced breakfast is especially recommended

  • A modern Japanese hot spring inn where all the rooms are independent guest cottages detached buildings! We recommend Yufuin Bettei Itsuki. The surrounding area is quiet and it is a wonderful inn where you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at the foot of Mt. Yufu. All the rooms are separate independent guest cottages with different concepts, so choosing the right room is the best part of the inn. The rooms also have private baths, so you can maintain a distance from other guests and enjoy a relaxing and private stay without worrying about your surroundings. The food is also delicious, and we especially recommend the Yufuin morning breakfast, which is made with ingredients from Yufuin.

  • The hot spring has Breathtaking view! After your bath, enjoy some traditional pudding.

  • I've been there a few times, both for driving from Fukuoka and for a day trip to the baths. (It's a luxury hotel, so it's hard to stay there!) The open-air bath is very spacious, and the mountains spread out in front of you, making Breathtaking view! And after the bath, I recommend the traditional pudding at Cafe BanBan. I go there just for that. The interior is Japanese-style, with a warm wooden feel. The meals use seasonal ingredients, and there is a sunken kotatsu dining area, so I think parents will be happy too.
